Who Qualifies for an EB-3 Visa?

EB-3 subcategories require a permanent, full-time job offer from a sponsoring U.S. employer. The position’s minimum requirements and the worker’s documented qualifications determine the appropriate classification.

The three EB-3 classifications are:

• Skilled workers: Workers filling positions that require at least two years of training or experience and aren’t temporary or seasonal.
• Professionals: Workers with a U.S. bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent when a bachelor’s degree is normally required to enter the occupation.
• Other workers: Workers filling positions requiring less than two years of training or experience. This classification carries a separate annual allocation of 10,000 visas and often faces longer backlogs than the other two subcategories.
