Airina Malieva is an immigration paralegal who works across both affirmative and defensive departments. In the affirmative department, she is a key team member on the humanitarian team – a cause she is deeply passionate about – while in the defensive department, she assists with removal defense proceedings, allowing her to handle a comprehensive range of cases across both practice areas. Airina primarily works with Russian-speaking clients while also assisting other diverse populations navigate complex immigration processes. A first-generation immigrant from Kyrgyzstan, Airina embarked on her own immigration journey at the age of 17, giving her deep personal insight and empathy for the clients she serves.
Airina graduated summa cum laude from George Mason University with a B.A. in Global Affairs, concentrating in International Development and Global Governance. She launched her career in international affairs and legal support as an intern in the Consular Department at an embassy in Washington, D.C., where she gained valuable exposure to diplomatic, consular, and administrative operations.
In her free time, Airina writes her own original poetry, learns foreign languages, and studies global geopolitics, with a particular focus on U.S.-Russia relations.
