O-1 Visa Lawyers in Silver Spring
Evidence-Focused O-1 Guidance in Silver Spring & Nationwide
An O-1 petition must connect a professional’s achievements and recognition to the work the beneficiary intends to perform in the United States. We work with professionals and companies to assess that connection, organize relevant documentation, and present a coherent petition under the standards for extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics.
Submitting more documents doesn’t necessarily make a petition stronger. USCIS considers whether the evidence satisfies the applicable requirements and whether the record as a whole supports the requested classification.
Discuss your professional background and proposed U.S. work with our O-1 visa lawyers. Call (240) 202-1566 to schedule a consultation.
Personalized O-1 Representation From Silver Spring
At Murray Osorio PLLC, we provide personalized immigration representation to individuals and businesses throughout the United States. From our Silver Spring office, we offer honest assessments based on each client’s credentials, proposed employment, immigration history, and professional objectives.
Each field recognizes accomplishment differently, so we tailor the strategy to the applicant’s work rather than forcing every petition into the same evidence checklist. Our representation focuses on the facts that matter under the selected O-1 classification.
How We Prepare an O-1 Petition
We guide petitioners and beneficiaries from the initial professional-profile review through petition preparation and adjudication. The process depends on the applicant’s field, petitioner arrangement, proposed activities, and available documentation.
Our review may address:
- Professional profile: Awards, published material, original contributions, professional participation, critical roles, compensation, and other relevant recognition.
- Proposed U.S. work: The position, projects, events, or activities the beneficiary intends to undertake within the area of extraordinary ability.
- Petition structure: The employer petitioner, U.S. agent, contractual terms, itinerary, and any applicable consultation requirement.
- Supporting record: Documentary evidence and letters explaining the significance of the applicant’s accomplishments.
- USCIS filing: Preparation of Form I-129, which is used to request O-1 classification, and responses to government requests when appropriate.

Who Can File an O-1 Petition
An O-1 beneficiary doesn’t file the petition independently. A U.S. employer or agent may file it, and a foreign employer may proceed through a U.S. agent when permitted by the regulations.
The petition should identify the petitioner, describe the proposed work, and establish how that work relates to the beneficiary’s area of extraordinary ability. Multiple employers, event-based engagements, and agent arrangements may require contracts, itineraries, and additional coordination.
O-1 Status & Long-Term Immigration Planning
O-1 status is a temporary nonimmigrant classification. It differs from permanent-residence categories such as EB-1A and the EB-2 National Interest Waiver, each of which has separate legal and evidentiary requirements.
Qualification for one category doesn’t establish eligibility for another. We evaluate temporary employment plans and potential permanent-residence objectives based on the applicant’s record, immigration history, work arrangements, and goals.
