Rachel has long been passionate about human rights and advocacy. While studying for her bachelor's degree, she watched in horror as the Muslim Ban took effect, and children were separated from their families at the southern border. As the daughter of Iraqi immigrants, these injustices deeply resonated with her and motivated her to pursue a career in immigration law.
During law school, Rachel gained hands-on experience in family-based visas, humanitarian petitions, and removal defense while working with Diaz Immigration Law and Julia M. Toro Law Firm. She also served as a student attorney in the Immigrant Justice Clinic at American University Washington College of Law, where she represented clients in asylum and U-visa cases. In addition to direct representation, she created a Know Your Rights presentation to inform on U-visas and VAWAs, and co-developed an advocacy project highlighting the experiences of undocumented students at the university.
Prior to joining Murray Osorio PLLC, Rachel was an Immigrant Justice Corps Fellow with the Amica Center for Immigrant Rights in the Unaccompanied Children's Program, where she worked primarily on Special Immigrant Juvenile Status and asylum.
Rachel is a dedicated immigration attorney and is committed to zealously and effectively serving her clients.
