Michaela Lovejoy

Attorney

Michaela is an attorney with Murray Osorio, PLLC. Prior to joining the firm, she worked as a Supervising Immigration Attorney with DC Volunteer Lawyers Project, where she oversaw a community-based legal clinic and supervised pro bono attorneys providing direct representation to survivors of domestic and gender-based violence in defensive and affirmative humanitarian immigration cases. She started her legal career as an Equal Justice Works Fellow at Bread for the City, sponsored by Crowell & Moring. Michaela’s project provided legal representation to immigrant survivors with dual involvement in the family and immigration law systems. With the assistance of her sponsor, Michaela helped protect access to justice for over 100 domestic violence survivors during the pandemic by launching a pro bono project that connected petitioners for civil protection orders with remote e-filing services.

Before law school, she served as a sexual assault crisis advocate in New Orleans as an AmeriCorps Service Member with Serve Louisiana. Michaela is passionate about advocating for trauma informed, culturally sensitive services for immigrant communities and promoting due process rights.
