As the daughter of immigrants, Linda knows the challenges of seeking a better life in the U.S. From a young age, she helped her father navigate the complex immigration process. She experienced the physical and emotional tolls this process places on families. This sparked her passion for helping immigrant communities and made her a zealous advocate for her clients.
At Murray Osorio, Linda Campos works in the removal defense practice group, offering client-centered, trauma-informed legal services. Before joining Murray Osorio, she was a Staff Attorney at Kids in Need of Defense (KIND). There, Linda represented unaccompanied children seeking Asylum, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), and Adjustment of Status. She represented clients before the Annandale and Sterling Immigration Courts, as well as local Virginia courts. Prior to KIND, she was a Senior Paralegal at Ayuda, focusing on detained children’s issues. From 2012 to 2018, Linda coordinated programs for the Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) Institute for Public Service, promoting civic engagement through educational events and forums on social issues.
In 2016, Linda started law school at American University’s Washington College of Law (WCL). As a Student Attorney in WCL’s Immigrant Justice Clinic (IJC), Linda helped start the “Defending the AU Dream Initiative” (AU Dream). This program offers legal services to immigrant students, both graduate and undergraduate, in the DC area. While at Georgetown University, Linda coordinated the Mentoring Program for the Dream Project. Here, she mentored students with undocumented status in their pursuit of higher education. At Miami Dade’s Honors College, Linda organized with peers to petition elected officials for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haitians after the 2008 natural disasters.
Outside of work, Linda loves to travel and find great food with her husband. Together, they also love to spoil and shower their fourteen nieces and nephews with love.
