Blake Sanderson
Whatever Your Immigration Legal Needs May Be, We Are With You
About
A son to a Peruvian mother, Blake grew up hearing about the difficulties immigrants faced in their home countries and the dreams they pursue in the United States. Since high school, Blake's dream of serving the immigrant community as a lawyer has never wavered.
At the University of Arizona College of Law, Blake was a student attorney at the University of Arizona's immigration law clinic, where he advocated on behalf of clients in immigration court and the Board of Immigration Appeals. He also interned at the Dallas Immigration Court, where he drafted judicial decisions in several cases involving asylum and cancellation of removal. While working for various private immigration law firms in Arizona, Texas, and Maryland, Blake interviewed dozens of asylum seekers in English and Spanish while preparing their evidence packets and legal arguments. At the Florence Immigration & Refugee Rights Project, Blake visited numerous clients detained in Southern Arizona and helped win multiple asylum cases. Through these experiences, Blake learned how immigration judges think, how to make immigration law more accessible for clients, and the unique challenges immigrants face in detention.
Outside of work, Blake enjoys playing soccer, watching sports, playing guitar, and annoying his dog.
