Briya Brown is an attorney at Murray Osorio PLLC who primarily handles removal defense and litigation. Briya’s passion for immigration law is rooted in her childhood experience growing up in a predominantly Latino community. Since then, she has been dedicated to social justice and providing legal representation for vulnerable communities.

Briya graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law where she served as a Student Attorney in the Mental Health Law Clinic. As a student attorney, Briya worked with the Office of Public Defender in representing patients in involuntary civil commitment hearings at the Sheppard Pratt psychiatric hospital. While in law school, she served as President and Vice President of the Immigration Law Association and served on the Student Committee for the Access to Justice Commission.

Prior to joining Murray Osorio as an attorney, Briya represented plaintiffs in birth injury and medical malpractice litigation. She also gained experience handling immigration matters working as a Law Clerk, handling Special Immigrant Juvenile Status and U-Nonimmigrant Visa cases, as well as removal defense and litigation matters. Finally, Briya also worked at the Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office as a Law Clerk in Special Victim’s Unit assisting in the prosecution of sex offense, child abuse, domestic violence, and human trafficking cases.

Outside of the courtroom, Briya enjoys volunteering. She has served in many clinics including Naturalization clinics, Adjustment of Status clinics, and screening clinics providing legal advice about individuals immigration cases. Briya also serves as a dedicated board member for the Family Crisis Center of Baltimore County, an organization committed to interrupting and preventing cycles of violence in relationships. In this role, Briya ensures survivors have access to essential resources, including shelter, counseling, and legal support. Alongside her work as an attorney, Briya enjoys staying up to date on immigration law news and developments.
