Savannah Cornejo Garcia

Savannah Cornejo Garcia is an attorney at Murray Osorio PLLC. Savannah began her legal career at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign by interning with the Champaign County Public Defenders Office. She later interned for the Harvard Law Immigration and Refugee Clinic, where she learned trauma-informed interviewing skills and developed a passion for immigration law.

Savannah graduated with her Juris Doctor and a certificate in Refugees and Humanitarian Emergencies from the Georgetown University Law Center in 2024. During her law school career, Savannah interned at the Julia M. Toro Law Firm in Washington, D.C., assisting with a variety of family-based petitions, asylum cases, and removal defense. As a student attorney in Georgetown Law’s Asylum Clinic, she represented two clients in Immigration Court, ultimately helping them to gain asylum and petition to bring the rest of their family to the U.S. In 2023, she interned with Murray Osorio. That year, Savannah also served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Judge Ana Reyes at the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, providing her with insight into the intricacies of litigation in federal court.

Savannah is dedicated to supporting law students who, like her, were the first in their families to attend law school. At Georgetown Law, she mentored incoming law students from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds as a RISE Fellow. She also served as the Communications Director for the Women of Color Collective and advocated for the Latina/o/e student population at Georgetown Law as the President of the Latin American Law Students Association.

Savannah grew up in Chicago and is proud to represent her Panamanian and Mexican heritage as a Latina attorney. Witnessing her own family’s immigration experience allows her to empathize with her clients, approaching legal services with cultural awareness and sensitivity.
